EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants (“EPIC”), a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm providing specialized services across select industries and client sectors, today announced a series of leadership appointments. Collectively, these are designed to strengthen the firm’s leadership team and deepen expertise across its core business areas while positioning the organization for its next phase of growth.
Over the past several years, EPIC has significantly expanded its national platform by strengthening its specialty insurance practices, entering new markets and broadening its expertise across industries and client segments. As the organization has evolved, these leadership appointments ensure the firm’s structure keeps pace with the business, creating clearer alignment across enterprise functions, specialties and geographic regions while enhancing collaboration across the organization.
“Over nearly two decades, we’ve built a connected national platform with deep specialty expertise and outstanding local teams,” said Steve Denton, CEO of EPIC. “As we continue to grow, our focus remains on making it easier for clients to access the full breadth of our offerings — bringing together the right people, capabilities and carrier relationships to solve complex insurance challenges, all while preserving the personalized service they’re accustomed to. These leaders will help position EPIC for what’s next, reinforcing the collaborative culture that has always set us apart.”
The following leaders have assumed new or expanded leadership responsibilities across the organization:
- Thomas O’Neil, named vice chairman, will continue to oversee EPIC’s regional business operations along with responsibilities for AI, technology initiatives, national claims, private client, EPIC’s Main Street Marketplace and EPIC’s wholesale strategy.
- Phil Moyles, as co-president, will oversee financial services, employee benefits, life & executive benefits, the EPIC account retention plan, carrier management and placement strategy, facultative reinsurance investments and the brand ambassador program.
- Gregg Bundschuh, named co-president, will lead organic growth, producer recruiting, marketing and brand, sales leadership, employee education, EPIC Specialty Programs & Investments, national programs, risk management services and national specialties.
- Frank Mammaro has expanded his chief financial officer responsibilities to the combined chief financial and chief operating officer (CFO/COO) role. He will add oversight of corporate operations, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), human resources, IT and legal, in addition to his current responsibilities for finance and accounting, business and financial planning, treasury and investments, procurement and board and investor relations.
- Marc Kunney, named chief client officer, will continue to run the Complex Risk Management business and, in his expanded role, be responsible for the overall client experience, client retention, service delivery and growth of client relationships across the firm.
- Karen Beldy Torborg has expanded her northeast president responsibilities and, as president of all geographic regions reporting to O’Neil, will connect EPIC’s regional operations across risk management, employee benefits, national specialties, private client and the Main Street Marketplace.
- Louis Oliver, named managing director, M&A, will lead merger and acquisition sourcing and execution across EPIC’s national platform.
As EPIC continues to expand, the firm’s leadership structure is evolving to reflect the scale, complexity and opportunities of the business. These appointments strengthen alignment across specialties, fostering greater collaboration and more streamlined decision-making. They also build on a period of continued momentum for EPIC, including strategic acquisitions, investments in key practice areas and leadership appointments that have further strengthened the firm’s capabilities across industries and client segments.
With these changes, EPIC remains focused on attracting top talent and strategic acquisition partners that strengthen the firm’s specialty capabilities and broaden its national presence.
