As part of its commitment to expanding investors’ access to trusted information, FINRA announced today that its investor education content is now available on Zogo, a gamified financial learning platform.
The content focuses on three topics, called “skills” within the Zogo app: Set Investing Goals, Open a Brokerage Account and Start Investing. It draws from FINRA’s established investor education resources and is adapted into bite-sized, interactive lessons with quizzes designed to reinforce understanding of core investing concepts.
The information is educational and does not recommend any particular investment, financial professional, brokerage firm, product or strategy.
“Today’s investors, particularly younger and newer ones, are looking for financial information across more platforms than ever before,” said Christine Kieffer, Senior Vice President, Investor Education at FINRA and President of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation (FINRA Foundation). “Delivering FINRA’s investor education content through Zogo’s app is one more way we can ensure clear, reliable resources are available where investors are most likely to use them.”
New research from the FINRA Foundation and Stanford University underscores the importance of ensuring that credible, actionable financial education is available to investors at the moment they need it. The findings show that only 18% of investors surveyed demonstrated advanced investment literacy, and investors with stronger investment knowledge were less likely to invest in a hypothetical, fraud-like opportunity.
Zogo uses a gamified learning model in which users earn experience points through quizzes and can redeem them for real-world rewards. This approach is designed to make learning about personal finance more engaging and accessible. The Zogo app is available for download on iOS and Android.
